▣ About Daesan Art Musem

Vision

The Museum is fundamentally comprised of two parts. The one is art museum which houses outstanding contemporary art works of Korea and holds exhibitions of contemporary art. And the other is resident studio which is the actual origin of artist-in-residence program in Korea

The museum fills the roles of exhibitions, collection, art research and art education, and, on the other hands, promotes an active interchange of artist, critics, curators and the publics. Through such a wide range of role, it aims to become a center of contemporary art as well as diffuse art and culture throughout the general.

Mission

The vision of Daesan Art Museum is to promote excellence and achievement in the artistic community of the Changwon City area. Daesan Art Museum presents a variety of modern artworks to the people in this area and develops remarkable and young domestic and international artists.

3rd Daesan Art Museum Residency Program


 

▣ Introduction

With the wave of globalization in arts and culture, the artist-in-residence program is being discussed among the arts circles more than ever. The artist-in-residence programs not only offer spaces for the artists to work‚ but they also help the artists to push the boundaries of their creative activities by placing them in a new environment‚ away from their daily lives. The museum offers grants for the development of exemplary international residency programs and artist.

The museum introduces prominent artists and, art works through group shows and sole show, and, through the artist-in-residence programs, it support contemporary artists. On the other hand, it holds workshops, artist’s presentation and art-related projects every year from 2010 and organizes international exchanging programs. Along with these constant efforts, the museum aims to construct lively discourses on contemporary art and become a core of contemporary art world.
